Hotel Rooms

art work

These groups of drawings of hotel rooms, are done as I travel as single traveler spending day after day and night after night looking at my somewhat generic surroundings.

One group is done in a small boteque hotel room in Paris. This room meant to be ecletic by design.

Another group is done day after day in a hotel room in Bilbao. This series looks at a room designed to be not noticed. With bland 1990s elements, square furniture, beige floral patterns, rug patterns of a not quite a dot or a line. Everything is designed to be forgotten. So looking at this room intensely, the drawings are able to absorb you in this dull place, finding beauty and melancholy.
